Terms of Service

These Terms govern the rights, obligations and responsibilities between Ongil ("we", "us") and users regarding the game Basement Dungeon (Korean title: 지하 1층에 던전이 생겼습니다; the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

  • The Service is provided free of charge and is supported by ads and optional in-app purchases. It is currently offered as a 7-day trial; how the full version will be offered (for example, as a paid purchase) will be announced at launch.
  • We may improve or change the Service, including its content, game rules and values, and ad placements.
  • We strive to provide a stable Service, but it may be interrupted temporarily due to maintenance, outages or force majeure.

2. License

We grant you a limited, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. You must use the Service in compliance with applicable laws and these Terms.

3. Ads and in-game currency

  • The Service includes interstitial and rewarded ads.
  • Watching a rewarded ad to completion may grant in-game rewards such as getting back up after a wipe-out, a spare torch, recovering lost materials and gold, collecting a day's sales once more, or a supply crate. No reward is given if the ad fails to load or is not watched to completion.
  • In-game resources such as gold, materials, items and gear are obtained through gameplay and rewarded ads.
  • In-game currency and progress have no real monetary value and cannot be exchanged or transferred. We may change how they are obtained or used for game balance.

3-1. In-app purchases and mushroom gems

  • The Service sells the following paid products (at the price shown in the App Store, taxes included):
    • Mushroom gem packs (consumable): grant mushroom gems.
    • Rookie Owner Bundle (one-time): grants mushroom gems and a shop theme.
    • Remove Ads (non-consumable): no interstitial ads, and rewards offered in place of rewarded ads are granted without watching an ad.
  • Mushroom gems carry over between runs and can be spent to receive ad rewards instantly without an ad, on shop themes (cosmetic), and on a start bonus for your next run. They can also be earned in game through daily goals, the bestiary and endings.
  • Runs that received the start bonus are not submitted to leaderboards (Game Center).
  • Payments and refunds are governed by Apple App Store policies; refunds can be requested from Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com). Except where required by law, gems that have been spent are not refunded.
  • Mushroom gems and game progress are stored only on your device. Remaining gems cannot be recovered if you delete the app or change devices. Remove Ads and the Rookie Owner Bundle (shop theme) can be restored on the same Apple Account with "Restore Purchases" in the shop (the bundle's gems are not restored).
  • Purchases by minors require the consent of a legal guardian; purchases made without consent may be cancelled as provided by law.

4. Leaderboards (Game Center)

  • On iOS, if you are signed in to Game Center, your records (total sales, the day you defeated the Mushroom King, and ice cream sold) are submitted to Game Center leaderboards and may be shown to other players with your Game Center nickname.
  • Records obtained through abnormal means may be removed from leaderboards. Apple's terms apply to your use of Game Center.

5. Your obligations (prohibited conduct)

You must not:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, modify or otherwise use the Service in an abnormal manner
  • Use bots, hacks, cheats or similar tools to disrupt the normal operation of the Service or its leaderboards
  • Manipulate the ad system or generate invalid traffic
  • Violate applicable laws or these Terms

6. Intellectual property

Rights to the Service's game design, code, text, music, sound effects and trademarks belong to us. Third-party works included in the Service, such as graphic assets and fonts, are used under their respective licenses. You may not reproduce, distribute or create derivative works from them without our prior written consent.

7. Game progress

  • Game progress and mushroom gems are stored only on your device. They may be lost if you delete the app or change or reset your device; we cannot restore them (non-consumable products can be restored with "Restore Purchases").
  • Starting a "New Game" from the title screen erases your current run, and it cannot be restored.

8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

  • The Service is provided "as is", and we make no warranties regarding fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted, error-free operation.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable in connection with this free Service.
  • Matters relating to third-party services (ads, Game Center, App Store payments) are governed by each provider's terms and policies.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may change these Terms when necessary and will post changes on this page. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and any dispute relating to the Service will be handled by the competent court under applicable law.
