Privacy Policy

Effective: 10/27/2026 · Version 1.1

Privacy Policy

Ongil ("we", "us") operates Basement Dungeon (Korean title: 지하 1층에 던전이 생겼습니다; the "Service"), a shop-management and turn-based dungeon RPG game. We value your privacy and have prepared this Privacy Policy in accordance with applicable laws.

The Service has no sign-up or login, and we do not collect information that directly identifies you, such as your name, email address or phone number. We do not operate our own servers and do not use analytics tools. However, the following information is processed to show ads, provide leaderboards, handle in-app purchases and save your game progress.

1. Information we process

Information processed automatically when serving ads (Google AdMob)

  • Advertising identifiers: iOS Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA), Android Advertising ID (GAID) — only if you allow it
  • Device and app information: device model, OS version, app version, language and country (approximate region), IP address and other information included in ad requests
  • Ad interactions: ad impressions, clicks and whether an ad was watched to completion

This information is processed by Google to serve and measure ads; we do not receive or store it separately.

Apple Game Center (iOS, leaderboards)

  • If you are signed in to Game Center on your device, the game submits the following records to Game Center leaderboards at the end of each in-game day:
    • Total sales: gold earned by the shop during one 7-day run
    • Fastest Mushroom King defeat: the day on which you defeated the Mushroom King
    • Ice cream sold: number of bowls sold during one run
  • Leaderboard screens are provided by Game Center, and your Game Center nickname, rank and records may be visible to other players.
  • Your Game Center account and nickname are managed by Apple; we do not store them.

In-app purchases (Apple App Store)

  • Payments are processed by Apple. We do not receive your card number, payment method or Apple Account details.
  • After a purchase, the app receives the product ID and transaction ID from the App Store and records them on your device so the same transaction is never granted twice. This information is not sent to our servers.

Information stored only on your device (game progress)

  • Your current run (day, gold, level, party stats, materials, items and gear owned, researched menus, building grade, rescued companions, daily goal progress, etc.)
  • Account data: mushroom gem balance, purchased products (Remove Ads, Starter Pack), shop themes, records of rewards claimed and tutorials seen, recent transaction IDs
  • Sound and haptics settings
  • Game progress is stored only on your device and is never sent to our servers. We do not access this data.

2. Purposes

  • Providing and operating the Service (the game)
  • Showing ads and measuring ad performance
  • Providing leaderboards
  • Delivering in-app purchases, preventing duplicate delivery and restoring purchases
  • Saving your game progress (continue)

3. Third-party services (processors)

We use the following third-party services, each of which processes information under its own privacy policy.

ServiceProviderPurpose
Google AdMobGoogle LLCAd delivery and measurement (rewarded and interstitial ads)
Google UMP (User Messaging Platform)Google LLCAd consent
Apple Game CenterApple Inc.Leaderboards (iOS)
Apple App Store In-App PurchaseApple Inc.Payment processing (iOS)

4. Advertising identifiers, consent and personalized ads

We show the following ads through Google AdMob. We do not use banner ads.

  • Rewarded ads: ads you choose to watch in exchange for an in-game reward. They are offered only at specific moments — getting back up after your party is wiped out in battle, a spare torch when your torches have burned out, recovering materials and gold lost to a wipe-out, collecting a day's sales once more, or a supply crate when you are low on potions.

  • Interstitial ads: shown on a screen transition on certain in-game mornings (days 3, 5 and 7), and skipped on the morning after you watched a rewarded ad or were wiped out.

  • Personalized ads and the use of advertising identifiers happen only with your consent. On iOS, the advertising identifier is used only if you choose Allow in the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt, and in regions such as the EEA and the UK, your choices in the Google UMP consent form determine whether ads are personalized. Without consent, non-personalized ads are shown.

  • You can change these settings at any time.

    • iOS — Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
    • Android — Settings → Privacy → Ads: delete or reset your advertising ID

Declining the use of advertising identifiers does not limit your use of the Service; ads may simply be less relevant to you.

5. Retention and deletion

  • Ad-related information is retained and deleted in accordance with Google's policies.
  • Records submitted to Game Center are retained in accordance with Apple's policies.
  • Game progress stays on your device until you start a New Game from the title screen (which overwrites your current run) or delete the app. Account data (gems, purchase records) is not erased by a New Game and is deleted together with the app.
  • Payment records are retained by Apple in accordance with its policies.

6. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14 (under 13 in some countries, such as the United States). If we learn that such information has been collected, we will delete it promptly.

7. Your rights

  • Opt out of ad tracking and reset your advertising identifier (see Section 4)
  • Delete game progress: "New Game" on the title screen (your current run is erased and cannot be restored) or delete the app
  • Stop using Game Center: sign out of Game Center in your device settings. Records already submitted are managed by Apple.
  • For any other privacy questions or requests, contact us using the details below.

8. International transfers

Due to the nature of the third-party services (Google, Apple), information may be processed on servers outside the Republic of Korea. Each provider applies safeguards required by applicable law.

9. Security

We apply reasonable safeguards, including minimizing the information processed, using trusted third-party services and encrypting data in transit.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy is effective from October 27, 2026 (1.1: in-app purchases added). If the information we process changes — for example, when the game launches on a new platform such as Steam or adds new features — we will post the update on this page.
